Explore a real Cold War-era submarine, and learn about the technologies that allow them to traverse the ‘seven seas’! Discover oceanography, propulsion systems, periscopes, Morse code, and more! A perfect opportunity to go behind the scenes of our submarine, USS Requin, and into areas rarely seen by the general public! See how these amazing vessels and their crew faced challenges and life underwater, and dive into the science and technology of submarines both past and present. Explore un-restored compartments, climb up the Conning Tower to see the periscope, and more! Tour size is limited to 12 people. Full mobility is required. Call 412.237.1637 to register.
Please note: USS Requin requires full physical mobility. A virtual tour is available in the main lobby for those visitors unable to navigate the ship. The Requin is moored on the Ohio River at Carnegie Science Center. It may close without notice due to weather or river conditions.
